The Astor is La-Z-Boy’s scale-up recliner for larger sitters – 37 inches wide, 41 inches deep, 44 inches tall. That extra 1.5 inches on the base compared to standard Jaspers makes the chair sit noticeably higher off the floor; taller sitters and people with mobility concerns find it easier to stand up from.
The Linen colorway is a warm oatmeal-cream that reads inviting in bright rooms. Tall pillow back has three adjustable cushions – you can move them for lumbar and head support based on your sitting posture. Rocker base at rest, manual side-handle recline.
For a customer over 6 feet or with knee/hip issues that make low chairs hard to exit, the Astor is the frame we point them to. Try the Astor Marine variant (same frame, blue upholstery) if Linen isn’t your color.
Questions & Answers
What makes the Astor different from a standard Jasper?
The Astor sits about 1.5 inches taller on its base, and the seat is deeper (41 inches vs. Jasper’s 38). Built for taller sitters and easier standing.
Are the three back cushions removable?
They’re adjustable – you can move them around to hit your preferred lumbar and head-support angles. Not fully removable for washing, but re-positionable.
Is Linen more cream or more grey?
Linen is a warm oatmeal-cream – leans slightly beige rather than grey. Reads warmer than the cool-neutral Silver on the Jasper line.
How does the Astor Linen compare to the Astor Marine?
Same frame, same mechanism, same dimensions. The difference is fabric color: Linen is warm cream; Marine is deep blue.
Where can I try the Astor?
Kensington has the La-Z-Boy store built inside our Northfield showroom. The Astor is a common floor piece since taller sitters ask about it specifically.
