La-Z-Boy Sparrow Brown Wall Away Recliner
Original price was: $1,199.99.$359.99Current price is: $359.99.
Wall Away means the Sparrow reclines by sliding forward on its base rather than tipping backward – you only need a few inches of clearance behind the seat, so the chair can sit inches from the wall. A rare mechanism at this price point.
The Sparrow has gracefully tapered arms and a sleek profile that reads modern-transitional. Brown fabric is a warm neutral. Not a rocker – Wall Away frames sit fixed on their base – but the payoff is the wall clearance, which matters in apartments and condos where a rocker recliner just doesn’t fit.
If a rocker recliner has always failed to fit your room because you can’t leave clearance behind it, the Sparrow is the answer we send customers to. Try it at the Northfield La-Z-Boy store.
Questions & Answers
What does Wall Away mean on a recliner?
The chair slides forward on its base when reclined, rather than tipping backward. Only a few inches of wall clearance are needed behind the seat.
How close can the Sparrow sit to a wall?
About 4-6 inches of clearance is usually enough – much less than the ~12 inches a rocker recliner needs. Perfect for tight condo living rooms.
Does the Sparrow rock?
No – Wall Away frames are fixed on their base. If you want both rock and recline, look at the Vail or Collage instead.
Is the Sparrow smaller than a Jasper?
Yes – 33 inches wide, comparable in compact scale to the Charlotte Hi-Leg. Not built for very tall sitters.
Where can I try the Sparrow?
Kensington has the La-Z-Boy store built inside our Northfield showroom, and Wall Away frames are on the floor because customers ask about the mechanism specifically.
